The General Class Prepares you to pass the General Exam and advance your privileges to include operating on all Amateur Radio Bands

Amateur Extra

The Amateur Extra Class prepares you to pass the Amateur Extra Exam and advance your privileges to include the entire range of all Amateur Radio Bands

Operating Series

The Operating Series is a series of individual workshops covering a variety of topics taught by experienced operators on each topic.  The agenda for this series will evolve over time and contain topics of interest to all operators regardless of license held.

Class Details

Technician

Our upcoming scheduled Technician Class will begin on August 16 2025.  We have 7 weeks schedule for the class and the space has been provided from American Legion Post 22 located at 241 Peachtree St., Cocoa, FL 32922 with session staring at Noon.


Week 1: Modules 1 & 2 - Welcome to Amateur Radio & Radio Fundamentals

Week 2: Module 3 - Electricity Components and Circuits

Week 3: Module 4 - Propagation, Antennas and Feedlines

Week 4: Module 5 - Equipment

Week 5: Modules 6 & 7 - Communicating with other Hams & Licensing Regulations

Week 6: Modules 8 & 9 Operating Regulations & Safety

Week 7: Test Preparation

General

This class has not yet been scheduled. Start dates and location will be finalized during the execution of the Technician class.  The goal is that newly licensed Technicians can continue with this class to upgrade their license.

Operating Series

SCARS is in the process of developing an operating series to fill in the gap between the material necessary to obtain your license and the topics that help improve operating knowledge.  These workshops cover a wide range of operating techniques.
